In this lab, we are interested in integrated and collaborative ecosystem studies to understand Taiwan's diverse deep-sea habitats and its biological resources (through soft-bottom seafloor). In particular, we are interested in the anthropogenic or natural disturbances on seafloor community structure and functioning. We are also interested in applying and developing novel analytical or modeling methods to understand the environmental or biological drivers controlling the distributions of seabed communities. Ultimately, we aim to study the ecological patterns and use statistical models to fill the gaps of “unknown” and to project the fates of seabed communities under the threats of anthropogenic and climate change impacts.
